I am a licensed clinical social worker with many years of experience working with a diverse background of clients. I received my Bachelor degree in Social Work at Siena College and Master degree in Social Work at the State University of New York at Albany. I have always had a strong interest in spirituality and lived in a monastery in Iowa for three years. It is here I learned the value of mediation to bring peace, balance, and a deeper self-awareness to our lives.
As a therapist, I have a warm and positive approach that focuses on you. I strive to create a safe space by building a trusting relationship where we can work as a team. I am passionate about providing holistic care that is personalized to each individual’s unique needs. I have experiencing working with grief and loss, chronic illness, depression, anxiety, the LBGTQ community, and trauma. I use a feminist approach that examines the influence oppression on feelings of self-worth and personal development I am trained to see how behavior is influence by a variety of factors which can include social and economic statues, disability status, gender identity, sexual orientation, family background, ethnic and religious and cultural identity.
Developing deeper insights and learning new ways to overcome patterns and obstacles can help with learning to lead a happier life. I truly believe that we have a great ability to heal and create meaningful lives.
